Moooooo...oo..oo..ooooold...!!!
This is Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. Kaede's request of the Thanksgiving dinner was "sushi and apple pie!" I took Friday off, to give myself an extra time to be festive. And (more importantly) to clean up. Turns out, Kaede had fever until Saturday and now Mai has fever. Of course, by the time Mai got fever, Kaede had recovered.

That does not mean that we have not been active, on the contrary, since Kaede had to take a day off Friday, we all went to Kitsilano. We enjoyed a stroll about the Commercial Drive area and had a bite there, then after picking up a few bottles of hydrox (diaper detergent, recommended!!), we walked on the beach. It was quite windy and the kids had steamed milk.
I sort of ran out of time so briefly...
Saturday, I did some serious scrubbing with bleach on the bedroom wall and bed frame. Then, we went for dim sum. I found an apple-turned-vinegar at the bottom of the fridge. I did some serious scrubbing at the bottom of the fridge. Kaede and I made an apple pie. Kaede is a good help now. Then I pulled out the super heavy cupboard and did some serious scrubbing with bleach on the kitchen wall, floor, and backside of the cupboard. But then I had to take Mai to bed so I fell asleep with Mai before I finished. I did not even brush my teeth!

Today, because the kitchen was a mess, we had to have breakfast in the living room. In the morning I did some more serious scrubbing behind the cupboard, then we went to Steveston to fulfill Kaede's Thanksgiving dinner request as well as my husband's dream of "getting a whole tuna and make sushi." We bought a whole tuna, frozen at sea, for $30, from one of the boats.
Which turned into...(Please see the photo! Negitoro, maguro-don, kabuto-yaki) After dinner, we had dessert of ... what else? Apple Pie!
Then after some serious dishwashing I wiped everything with vinegar (to get rid of fishy smell, which became intensely stronger after dinner), some serious scrubbing with S.O.S. in the sink, then some serious scrubbing with bleach on the fridge where molds had shown up, and underneath the sink, where I found some more. Now kitchen floor is a mess again with lots of stuff pulled out. But since it is 1 AM I am not going back in there. I brushed my teeth, this time. As I brushed my teeth and looked up, I found another big colony of black mold in the bathroom. Ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!
